DCN-2 central exchange unit is designed to connect up to 16 DCN-16U exchange units with subscribers’ stations to the “Armtel” DCN multifunctional industrial intercom system to provide simplex and duplex PA and intercom communication at industrial sites with rugged and explosion-hazardous and extreme noise environment. Moreover, DCN-2 provides interconnection of two or more digital PABX via E1 digital interfaces (in this case the number of DCN-16U central exchange units decreases by the number of PABX).

DCN-2 fields of application:

• industrial intercom and PA;
• transportation intercom systems;
• conference and selector call;
• aggressive and explosion-hazardous environment;
• crane and moving object communications;
• radio- intercom communications.

DCN-2 can be used in steel, chemical, gas and oil industries and industries with similar environment as well as in the railway sector. It is installed in operator’s rooms as well as control rooms. Its operating temperature range is +5 to 40 ºC, operating humidity rate is 5-95%. It has protection against foreign substances and water (as per RF Standard 14254-96).

DCN 2 can also be used in the army, police and emergency call service broadcasting lines, and if necessary, it can be integrated into the state telecommunication network.

DCN-2 functions:

• setup of simplex intercom between subscriber’s stations connected to DCN-16U;
• setup of duplex intercom between subscriber’s stations connected to DCN-16U and/or digital PABX;
• individual or group call (for dialer devices);
• PA single announcement;
• PA group announcement;
• free numbering plan;
• priority call order;
• assignment of priorities;
• recording of speech messages into audio memory and control playback;
• manual or automatic broadcasting of alarm signals and pre-recorded messages;
• local and remote control, error monitoring and system configuration.

The complete set of functions and their implementations varies and depends on the software configuration of the DCN multifunctional industrial intercom system.
“Armtel” DCN multifunctional industrial intercom system is based on the module principle. Each module includes a DCN-2 central exchange unit with 16 interfaces to which DCN-16U digital exchange units with subscribers’ stations and/or digital PABX or another device with E1 interface are connected.
